Thin foil
Thin foil interacting with intense laser radiation
29.04.2015
- A thin disk of plasma interacts with circular laser radiation at a0=16. In the plot below the green colors indicate the electron density as electrons exit the irradiated disk. The red color scales indicate the reflected laser radiation. The black disk represents the ionic background. The line plots to the right show the poynting flux, the electron density, and the reflected light.
- The plot below shows the same as the plot above but for a later time. In both plots it can be seen that electrons co-propagate with the transmitted laser radiation. The simulations are three dimensional and expensive. They generate large data volumes.
